Copyright and intellectual property
Effective 9 October 2026
The short version
Count My Herd, this website and the app are owned by Origae (ABN 21 237 258 402). You may use them as the terms of service allow. You may not copy them or pass them off as your own, or use the app to train a model, except as the law allows.
1 Who owns this
Origae (ABN 21 237 258 402) owns the copyright in Count My Herd, the app, this website and the materials on them.
ORIGAE is a business name registered to the sole trader who operates Count My Herd. You can confirm who holds it by looking up the ABN on the Australian Business Register (abr.business.gov.au). The postal address is Suite 329, 98-100 Elizabeth Street, Melbourne VIC 3000, Australia. Email support@countmyherd.com.
2 Copyright
Copyright protects the original text, photographs, graphics, software (source and object code) and the selection and arrangement of this website. It does not protect a method, an idea, a fact or a number. Your own photographs, paddock names and counts stay yours, as section 5 of the terms of service says.
© 2026 Origae (ABN 21 237 258 402). All rights reserved.
Some material may be used under licence from someone else, such as typefaces and credited photographs. That material stays the property of the person who supplied it.
3 Trade marks
Count My Herd, Origae and the Count My Herd logo are trade marks of Origae. Please do not use them in a way that suggests we made, sponsor or endorse something we did not.
4 What you may do
You may view the public pages, share a link, and quote a short passage with credit and a link back, for example in a news article or a review. You may print a page for your own reading.
Anything more, including copying a page onto your own site, needs written permission from support@countmyherd.com. Using the app is covered by section 8 of the terms of service, not by this page.
5 What you may not do
You must not, unless the law allows it or we agree in writing:
- copy, reproduce or republish material from this website or the app, except for a short quotation with credit;
- use bots, scripts or other automated means to access the app or its API, or to copy material from them, other than through the app itself;
- use the app or its API to train, fine-tune or otherwise develop a machine learning model;
- copy, frame or mirror the app or the website, or present them as your own;
- remove or alter any copyright, trade mark or other notice;
- register or use a trade mark, business name or domain name that is likely to be confused with Count My Herd or Origae;
- pass off your goods or services as ours, or suggest we endorse them when we do not.
6 Confidential material
The prompts, model instructions, tuning settings and source code behind Count My Herd are confidential and are not published. The general method, an AI model marking each animal it sees across three readings and our software counting the marks, is described in section 4 of the terms of service so you can judge the estimate. You must not try to extract the confidential parts from the app or the API, except to the extent the law allows regardless of this clause.
7 If you think we have used your work
If you believe material on this website infringes your copyright, email support@countmyherd.com with the page address, a description of the work, and your contact details. We will look at it and take down material that should not be there.
8 Your photographs and counts
You keep any rights you have in the photographs you take, the paddock names you type and your count history. We do not claim them. Section 5 of the terms of service sets out the limited licence you give us to produce your count and to store your paddocks and count history so the app can show them back to you.
9 Fair dealing and the Australian Consumer Law
Nothing on this page limits a right you have under the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth), including fair dealing for research, criticism, review or reporting the news, or under the Australian Consumer Law. Where this page and those laws disagree, those laws win.
10 Enforcement
If someone infringes our copyright or breaches the terms of service, we may suspend their access to the Service, seek an injunction, and claim damages or an account of profits where the law provides one. This page is governed by the law of Victoria, Australia.
